St Luke’s Trust – Supporting Steiner Waldorf Education in the Thames Valley

Invitation for proposed future use of Mill Lane School Building – see below

About St Luke’s Trust

St Luke’s Trust is based in Reading and Padworth, West Berkshire.

Purpose

St Luke’s Trust aims to provide premises in a financially secure way to for other organisations or individuals to run educational activities as much as possible in line with Steiner Waldorf ideas.  We do not run the educational or other activities directly ourselves, but seek to provide a supportive home for them.

Current activities

Rose Garden Early Years Centre Ltd CIC

Rose Garden Early Years Centre Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of St Luke’s Trust.  Rose Garden is managed by Gemma Coleman who has an accountancy background, school administration experience and is a trained Steiner Waldorf Kindergarten Teacher.

Alder Bridge School

Since it opened at the Padworth site, Alder Bridge Association for Steiner Waldorf Education (ABASWE) has rented the school building for Alder Bridge School from St Luke’s Trust.  Sadly ABASWE was put into administration in November 2022 even though the shortfall in cash was only about 10% of the assets;  Association members were given no information about this possibility by the then Trustees and the Trustees did not engage with the Trustees of St Luke’s Trust when they offered to work with them to avoid going into Administration.  Bridge House has now been sold and ABASWE is out of Administration but is still inactive.  The school building is now available for others to use.
